WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Has Honda reinvented a legend?
By: Web Editor
Friday lunchtimes are always interesting in our sister publication Twist and Go's office, but today has been better than most. This picture of what appears to be a new air-cooled Honda Vision dropped into our inbox. With the water-cooled Vision 110 launched earlier this year, we are guessing that this one is a 50cc machine.
The 2012 Honda Vision - 50cc
Now Honda have a long history of air-cooled 50s - the original Cub provided transport for the world.
We are guessing that this bike will have an all-new four stroke engine, fuel-injected for efficiency and emissions and if the new Vision is anything like as good as the old one was (commuters from the late 80s and early 90s still remember it fondly), it’ll be one hell of a scooter.
From what we can see the wheels look like 14inch items and we’re betting that it will have Honda’s CBS combined brake system, where the left lever operates the back brake and a small amount of front, while the right lever operates the front brake independently. UK bikes will be restricted, of course to 30mph, but, if the bigger Vision is anything to go by, the 50cc version should be keenly priced and very fuel efficient.
We’d expect at least 120mpg in typical urban riding. More details when we get them.
